Photography

Timpson is an artist specializing in interdisciplinary mediums, including photography, painting and sculpture. He joins ASU as an assistant professor of photography in the School of Art. He has exhibited work in the United States and abroad. Timpson is a Yale-Smithsonian Poynter Fellow.

Education

Juan Obando is a Colombian artist who has worked between Colombia and the United States and currently resides in Phoenix, AZ, USA. Juan holds a BA in Design and Architecture from Universidad de Los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) and an MFA in Electronic and Time-Based Media Art from Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN).

Liz Cohen (United States, 1973) is a photographer, performance artist, and object maker whose decades-long career focuses largely on the intersection of immigration, industry, labor, and women’s representation in popular media.

An interdisciplinary thinker and desert lover, I studied natural sciences before looking for new languages and communities in the arts. Having replaced the burden of proof with the celebration of subjectivity, my mixed-media and photographic artworks question conventional boundaries including those between disciplines and between bodies and their environments.
