Lily Regalia
Lily Regalia is a painter born in Saint Paul, Minnesota and raised in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. She earned her BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2023. In 2024, she studied in Naples, Italy where she painted en plein air with soft pastels and developed an impressionistic lens. Inspired by the colors and rawness of the city and medium, she integrated these elements into her practice through dry brushing with acrylics. Regalia recently had an exhibition with Visionary Art Collective titled Held Together: Fragility and Endurance in Art, curated by Sergio Gomez. Her work is also included in the 2025 Fall Annual Issue of AcrylicWorks: The Best of Acrylic magazine, presented by Artists Network and curated by Mary Carroll.
Regalia’s work focuses on how spaces within the home parallel human connection and identity. Growing up in an environment where her parents renovated homes, she became fascinated by demolition and reconstruction. These processes shaped her exploration of how emotional spaces are structured. Domestic spaces become a representation of the body and soul—internal spaces where personal growth and transformation occur. The arrangement of furnishings emphasizes the tension between comfort and the discomfort of uncertainty. Her practice ultimately reflects the difficulty of finding home and emotional stability in often interminable and incomplete houses, furnishings and people.
